On a full moon night (poem + krishna drawing)

Image
So here's poem that I composed and a drawing that I did of the Supreme Lord Krishna :D On a full moon night, the moon shone very bright. It was cold and calm, but the blue moonlight kept the night warm. The night was silent, silent than ever, yet the air was filled with melody which was heard never. It was so magical and pleasing, it seemed to attract even the non-living. I was mesmerized, I was astound, for a while as if I was spellbound. Then everything appeared to be changed, as if for a divine meeting it was arranged. The silent night now was vibrant than ever, and the sweet melody now accompanied gurgle of river. The land was beautifully decorated with sweet smelling flowers, it seemed as if all the blessings of nature here showers. I was enchanted then by a beautiful sight, with the sweet melody danced a peacock with all its might. What I saw next was the most magnificient scene, to behold which I was eternally keen. Sri Radha an...

The need for spiritual desires

The need for spiritual desire (Excerpts have been used from the lecture “Develop the greed for Krishna” given by HH Bhakti Vijnana Gosvami)  In our daily life we are all influenced by some or the other desires. We all want to do something and that to do something is a desire.  So desire is the basis of our existence. Sastras reveal that we fell into this material world just because of our desire to live independently from Krishna, desire to lord over the material world. According to the degree of that desire we take that position into the material world, which can be classified into 3 modes: Goodness - take birth as a demigod or higher being, passion - take birth as a human being, ignorance - take birth as an animal or lower species of life. According to a person’s desire, he can either be elevated or can degrade himself to lower species of life. In material connection, the desir this desire is greed. Greedy for more and more, more enjoyment, more sense gratification, and thu...

Why chant the Hare Krishna Mahamantra?

Why only chant the HARE KRISHNA MAHAMANTRA? According to different situation, time, age, people etc, there is different means or ways to attain the path of spiritual liberation and revive our spiritual relationship with the Supreme. And for this age the prescribed process is the chanting of the Holy names or the practice of sankirtana Yajna. What is so special about the name of God? It is non-different than God. Golokera premedana harir nama sankirtan, the sound of God’s name have descended from the spiritual world, it’s not a material vibration although we can say it with our tongue and hear it with our ear, it’s a divine sound and that sound have created this existence and can destroy all illusion. It can awaken the eternal truth within us. A life full of joy and jubilation, no sorrow, no anxiety, no apprehension. Every moment full of love and satisfaction, the world devoid of any rage or agitation. All are selfless, kind and compassionate, not a single cause to lamenate. Everyday is ever fresh and new, splendid and inspiring are all the views. Happiness and celebrations, all along the way, such a wnderful life is just few steps away. No, it is not a fantasy, we can make it a reality. Life can be beautiful, beautiful than ever, When you know the secret, life will be happy forever. Krishna is our father, the supreme father, and Radharani our eternal loving mother. Our real happiness lies in serving and loving Them, we can never be happy being seperated from Them. Once we foolishly chose to live here, in a world filled misery and fear. Here, everything is so gross, with the passage of time, it grows more morse. Ho! the fatal day is...

Yesterday (07.12.12, friday) was the most auspicious day of my life! I was lucky enough to have darshan of HH Jaya Pataka Swami Maharaj. It was just like a dream come true for a fallen soul like me. I never met Him before ever. Since I heard He's arriving here (UAE, Middle east) I was desperately looking forward to meet Him. Ofcourse, in the crowd of many hundread and thousand devotees, it was hard to get darshan of His Holiness. But i was luck!! Before His arrival I wrote a poem to glorify Him, hoping to give it to Him when we meet. So I just went to the stage and gave that poem to Maharaj's personal assistant plus had His darshan!! I felt blessed!   Ocean of Causeless Mercy!   O' Maharaj! ocean of causeless mercy, Your heart is over flowing with divine ecstasy.   Though your eternaly liberated, You appeared to save fallen souls in deep torment.   Having forgotten Krishna, the master of all, We fall into the dead trap of maya's toll. ...

One day while in a rapturous trance, Lord Gauranga unknowingly trod on a sleeping tigeIr, who stirred and awakened. "Now we are finished!" Balabhadra, Lord Chaitanya's companion thought. But Gauranga ordered the tiger, "Get up! Why are you sleeping? Chant Hare Krsna!" The tiger rose and started chanting Hare Krsna, suffused with transcendental joy. Another time, while Lord Chaitanya was bathing in a river a herd of mad elephants arrived. The Lord splashed them with water and asked them to chant Hare Krsna. When the water touched their bodies the elephants began chanting "Krsna Krsna!" Some of them danced, some fell to the ground, and others screamed in ecstasy.                       Often Mahaorabhu's sweet singing would attract deer to come and follow Him.
